The USS Eisenhower in a lightning storm
The USS Eisenhower in a lightning storm
I argue in my book that Ezekiel chapters 37, 38, 39 40 and 41 should be viewed as one long – and very detailed end time prophecy. My reasoning for this is simple; When Ezekiel penned the book we know today as the book of Ezekiel (580s B.C.) chapters, verses even consonants did not yet exist in the Hebrew language, and were only added centuries later by Hebrew scribes as these literary tools were discovered and made available. Moreover the book we know today as the book of Ezekiel is actually several books penned by the prophet, and only compiled into the one book we know it as today centuries later by the very same Hebrew scribes who broke the book up into chapter and verses where they believed these exist while, at the same time, adding the newly invented consonants of the Hebrew language as well.
When the above is understood, chapter 37 – the rebirth of the modern state of Israel, chapters 38 and 39 - the War of Gog and Magog, and chapters 40 and 41 – the rebuilt Jewish Temple in Jerusalem become one continuous and very detailed end time prophecy which began to be fulfilled in real time in 1948 with the rebirth of the modern state of Israel and will be followed in real time by the War of Gog and Magog and the rebuilding of the third Jewish Temple in Jerusalem.
With President Assad of Syria threatening his own country, and undoubtedly his neighbors as well, with his stockpile of chemicals weapons, Ezekiel 39: 14-15 takes on new meaning: “Men will be regularly employed [after the War of Gog and Magog has been concluded] to cleanse the land. Some will go throughout the land and, in addition to them, others will bury those that remain on the ground. At the end of the seven months [is this a possible reference to the length of the War of Gog and Magog?] they will begin their search. As they go throughout the land and one of them sees a human bone, he will set up a marker beside it until the gravediggers have buried it in the Valley of Hamon Gog (Also a town called Hamonah will be there.) And so they will cleanse the land.” Many biblical scholars have for decades seen these dead bodies littering the land of Israel as victims of a nuclear attack. I, on the other hand, see these dead bodies as being victims of chemical weapons rather than nuclear.
Zechariah 14:12 is another classical end time prophecy that may be speaking of the same biological event during the War of Gog and Magog when he writes: “This is the plague which the Lord will strike all the nations that fought [notice the past tense] against Jerusalem: Their flesh will rot while they are still standing on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths…” Again, many biblical scholars see this as a description of the effects of nuclear war, I, on the other hand, believe this describes chemical agents and their effects on the coalition force of Gog.
With the above being said, it is interesting to note that American officials said Wednesday, Dec. 4, that they believed Syrian bombs had been made ready with sarin gas, but not yet loaded onto fighter planes and Syrian President Assad had not yet issued the “go” order. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton warned President Assad once again that he would be crossing “a red line” if he used nerve gas against the country’s rebels. But “there’s little the outside world can do to stop it.”
In answer to US allegations, Syrian spokesmen reiterated that their government would not use chemical weapons against its own people. This statement leaves wide open the possible use of lethal gas against the countries supporting the Syrian rebels, such as Turkey and Jordan, and possibly even Israel. And indeed, the Assad regime has in the past referred to “external enemies” as possible targets of chemical warfare. This locution undoubtedly covers Israel. Yet against the flood of information and warnings coming from the United States and Israel is strangely silent and their media are officially discouraged from tracking the Syrian chemical weapons menace.
Surprise was voiced in some Israeli defense and military quarters, when the prime minister, the defense minister and other key ministers traveled to Europe Wednesday for visits to Prague and Berlin, at a time when Israel’s northern border with Syria might be targeted for a chemical attack. Although it was only a 48-hour absence – they returned Friday – Benjamin Netanyahu and Ehud Barak are holding to an outward attitude of coolly controlling the situation, in contrast to the Turkish government which has prepared itself for possible attack – and not only with defensive measures. Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu remarked Wednesday that the Syrian regime has 700 missiles whose location, storage method and holders are no secret to Ankara. Was this a veiled threat to destroy them. Prime Minister Netanyahu, on the other hand, said nothing more than the routine: “We are watching the Syrian chemical weapons with concern.”
The USS Eisenhower Strike Group transited the Suez Canal from the Persian Gulf Saturday, Dec. 1, sailing up to the Syrian coast Tuesday in a heavy storm, with 8 fighter bomber squadrons of Air Wing Seven on its decks and 8,000 sailors, airmen and Marines. The USS Eisenhower group also joined the USS Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group which carries 2,500 Marines.
Facing Syria now are 10,000 US fighting men, 70 fighter-bombers and at least 17 warships, including the three Iwo Jima amphibious craft, a guided missile cruiser and 10 destroyers and frigates. Four of these vessels are armed with Aegis missile interceptors. This mighty US armada brings immense pressure to bear on the beleaguered Assad regime after it survied an almost two-year buffeting by an armed uprising. Its presence indicates that the United States now stands ready for direct military intervention in the Syrian conflict when the weather permits.
The Obama Administration views events in and around Syria as being of such an urgent nature that these navy maneuvers leave behind in the all-important Persian Gulf just one US aircraft carrier, the USS Stennis and its strike group.
Welcoming NATO’s decision Tuesday, Dec. 4, to deploy Patriot missile batteries in Turkey, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said Wednesday: “The protection from NATO will be three dimensional; one is the short-range Patriots, the second is the middle-range Terminal High Altitude Air Defense [THAD] system and the last is the AEGIS system, which counters missiles that can reach outside the atmosphere.” Military sources have stated publicly  While the Patriot is land-based and will be deployed on the Turkish-Syrian border, the THAD and the Aegis have just reached the Syrian coast aboard the USS Eisenhower strike group. “With this integrated system,” said Davutoglu, Turkey will have maximum protection.”
He added: “The Syrian regime has 700 missiles,” and their location, storage method and holders are no secret to Ankara. This was the first time Ankara had made threats to destroy Syrian missiles, including any carrying chemical warheads.
It appears, that, when one considers Assad’s threat to use chemical weapons, the Syrian conflict could possibly be spreading? With Turkey (the ancient “Land of Gog and Magog) heavily involved, and now the United States entering the picture, how far will this conflict ultimately spread?…Stay tuned.
